OK, I've made some of these mistakes myself. But I'd never SHOW ANYONE.

Really creepy pix of a bad MacBook Pro battery.
G: [big sigh] Okay, I think I have to do this again. Do you recognize that there's a difference between one dollar and one cent?
A: Definitely.
G: Do you recognize there's a difference between half a dollar and half a cent?
A: Definitely
G: Then, do you therefore recognize there's a difference between .002 dollars and .002 cents
A: No.
G: No?
A: I mean there's... there's no .002 dollars.
Diodes and capacitors and hex inverters, oh my!
David Pogue is going to love this one.
It was just a matter of time.
...not to make ends meet, but to immerse himself in humanity. I often wonder if something is wrong with *me* when I talk to some people -- they're so out of touch with the world around them, the people around them. Their physical proximity to anything is irrelevant...that does not exist if it's not chosen to be considered.
Here's a section that was particularly resonant.
"nobody thanked me. i worked hard. i got paid peanuts. ... i was trying hard and i was doing an ok job. ... i've been taught countless times the value of a leader/manager showing appreciation for people's effort. however, my instinct has often been that showing appreciation really isn't too necessary for good people. they just take pride in a job well done --- and, anyway, they can read my mind and see the appreciation. well, from day 1 at mcdonald's, i was yearning for someone there to say "thanks". even a "you're doing ok" would suffice. but, no. neither management experience -- nor reading about management --- teaches this lesson as well as being an under-appreciated employee."
